• “Special Olympics Maryland” is the official name of our organization. Not “Special Olympics of Maryland”, “the Special Olympics of Maryland”, or “Maryland Special Olympics”
• 15,588 athletes and Unified® teammates train & compete in Maryland
• Special Olympics Maryland offers 17 sports year-round
• All SOMD athletes and Unified® teammates compete free of charge
• It costs $250 for a participant to compete in one sport for one season
