Step 2

Registration, Day-of Details & Everything in Between

  1. Register Here if you are school-aged, a teacher, coach, parent, or administrator.
  2. Fundraise or pay $50. Tips and tricks are here to help you fundraise.
  3. Come to Plunge
    1. Arrive on site
      1. The Plunge is located at Sandy Point State Park (1100 E College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409)
      2. Parking is first come, first served and there is plenty of bus parking for your teams. Don’t forget, we reimburse for buses if you raise enough. Learn more here.
    2. Head to Registration   
      1. Coming with a large team? Please send one team captain with all waivers, and we will get you checked in. 
      2. In this tent, you will sign your waiver.
      3. Receive your Plunge wristband, which will give you access to the Plunge zone.
      4. Receive your Plunge sweatshirt and cinch sack.
      5. Bringing any spectators? Have them also visit this tent to sign a spectator waiver and receive a wristband. You can also fill this out ahead of time and turn in a Packet Pickup!
    3. Head to Plungefest and see full details here!
      1. Grab your free Wawa lunch.
      2. Visit the merchandise tent.
      3. Visit various other entertainment vendors on site.
      4. Enjoy the tunes in the Rams Head tent.
      5. Visit our food vendors.
      6. Enjoy the day!
    4. Head to the Beach to Plunge
      1.  Plunge times are 11 AM, 12 PM, and 1 PM
      2. The beach will open 30 minutes before each Plunge.
      3. Are you a first-time plunger? Here are your do's and don'ts of Plunge! You can also watch the video at the bottom of this page!
    5. Meet Special Olympics Maryland Athletes: Be sure to meet some of our amazing athletes who are on-site to thank you for your support!

  1. Register Here if you want to be a part of Maryland’s coolest party of winter! All ages are welcome! You do not need to choose a Plunge time like in previous years. Plungers can show up on Plunge day and Plunge at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, or 3:00 PM.

      2. Buy a parking pass on-site as quantities are available – no guarantee that passes will still be available.

Important Links & Resources

Parking is only required for Sat, February 4th. Online Parking passes sales have concluded but you can still purchase parking passes at Packet Pickup and on-site at Plunge, but there is no guarantee that passes will be available.

Do you have a pal that is not plunging but wants to come watch you bear the cold? If they want to be on the beach with you, they need to sign a Spectator Wavier and turn it in at the Registration Tent or Packet Pickup to get a wristband.

Want to skip the lines on Plunge day? Take advantage of our Packet Pickup at Special Olympics Maryland headquarters from January 28th through February 2nd. Click the button for daily times!

There is so much to do at Sandy Point State Park during the Polar Bear Plunge... getting in the water is not required! Join Special Olympics Maryland at Sandy Point State Park from February 2nd-4th and enjoy PlungeFest.

All money raised from the Plunge directly benefits 4,340 Special Olympics Maryland athletes across the state. As a Plunger, you can utilize all of the fundraising resources in our library, and let us tell you - there are a lot!
