Parking Passes

Parking passes for the 2023 MSP Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park are only required for Saturday, February 4th. If you are plunging with your team on Thursday, February 2nd or Friday, February 3rd you do not need to purchase a parking pass. Parking passes will be mailed, so need to be purchased by January 9th. If you don’t purchase a pass in time, not to worry, we will have an option to buy on-site (while supplies last). Check out our fundraise to park and online purchase options below!

Fundraise to Park

Individual Plungers

Individual Plungers who raise $1,500 by March 10th will receive a parking pass for Sandy Point State Park, guaranteeing them parking on site on Plunge Day. Parking passes are limited to the first 150 Plungers.

Plunge Teams

Plunge Teams that raise $5,000 or more by March 10th will receive a free tailgate pass for Sandy Point State Park guaranteeing them parking on site on Plunge Day. Tailgate passes are limited to the first 25 Plunge Teams.

Handicapped Parking

Handicapped Parking Permits are $15.00 and can be purchased online.

Requests for accessible parking spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A parking pass is required to enter the park, along with your Handicapped Plates or Hang Tag. A Handicapped identification alone will not be granted access into Sandy Point without a Plunge Permit.

Polar Express Shuttle

A free Polar Express Shuttle System will be available and we encourage all Plungers and spectators to use this fast, efficient mode of transportation to and from the Park. We’ll even be giving away great prizes to shuttle riders all day long! Handicapped Accessible buses are available as part of the free Polar Express Shuttle System to and from Sandy Point, so accommodations are available to all participants and spectators, both on-site and to and from our satellite lots. Beginning at 8:00 AM, Polar Express shuttles will be transporting passengers to Sandy Point State Park from:


Cool Schools Plungers!

We want to make sure your Cool School isn’t left behind. Special Olympics Maryland is going the mile to cover the cost of any school team traveling together on a bus from their school!
