2020 MSP Polar Bear Plunge

Face Coverings

We are excited to welcome our Plungers back to Sandy Point State Park for the 2022 Plunge. We would like to share some information to help you better prepare for a safe plunge. All Plungers and spectators will be required to wear an approved face covering when in an indoor tent or on a shuttle to/from the event regardless of vaccination status unless actively eating or drinking.  Tents include: Registration tent, Rams Head tent, Changing tent, and VIP tent

  • We will be providing masks as you enter the Changing tent after Plunging, as it is not required to wear a mask while Plunging and a wet mask is not a functional mask.
  • Face coverings must adequately cover both nose and mouth and fit snugly at the sides of a face and be secured under the chin.
  • Children who are two years and younger do not require a face covering.
  • Face Coverings will be required at all times at the Cool Schools Plunge, except when Plunging.

The health and safety of our athletes and Plungers will remain our top priority. To maintain a safe Plunge experience, our close collaboration with health experts and state and local government officials will continue. In addition to handwashing stations at portable restrooms, hand sanitizer will be readily available for your use throughout the park. You may also bring your own hand sanitizer. If you feel ill at any point before leaving or on your way to the Plunge, we ask that you please be a good teammate and stay home.
